I tried to protect my sky from too much overspray, altough I knew I would be painting mountains onto the backdrop as well. My spray mixture consisted of two distinct earth color washes, one reddish and one bluish gray, plus an India ink wash. The color washes were made from cheap miss-matched latex paints from the hardware store.
