I did not use any "cardboard skelatons" for my mountains on this layout. Instead, I used all layered foam and carved it down with an old kitchen knife. The position of these buildings changed many times, and some were not even used, but they helped me to capture a vision for what I wanted. Note: the track has all been laid and tested for smooth operation.
